Ptarmigan and moose hunting

Lapland’s modest hunting traditions have been part of our lifestyle for centuries. Together with knowledge able guides, you can explore the majestic landscape and experience the wealth of fauna at close quarters.

And once the hunt is over, you will leave Lapland with new experiences in your baggage.

Ptarmigan hunting with pointer
For ptarmigan hunters, August 25 is sacred. Finally, we are able
to head into the mountains again and send the dogs on the chase.
Suddenly a dog stops and points – it has spotted a bird. Your pulse
rises …

Hunting with a guide normally leads to the possibility of bringing
down 10–15 ptarmigans per group (guide with 1–2 dogs and 2–3
shooters) and day.

Moose hunting with loose dog or eith a moose hunting team.

The biggest bull moose live in the Tornedalen Valley.

Join our guides with a moose hound on the hunt for the king of the forest. Feel the excitement as you hear the baying and see the moose stationary in your sights.

Alternatively, experience a traditional survey hunt as member of a hunting team.

Forest bird hunt with grouse

Bird hunting in the forests near the mountains is a wonderful experience.

Here, there are enormous open spaces with excellent habitats for capercaillie, black grouse and ptarmigan. The hunt is conducted with pointers and grouse dogs. Hunting with grouse dogs has a long tradition in the northern pine forests and this is a hunt we are keen to recommend. In December and January, the hunt moves to the peaks
and the dogs are exchanged for skis and white clothing.

Hunting with a guide normally leads to the possibility of bringing
down 2–5 birds per group (guide with 1–2 dogs and 2 shooters)
and day.
