On arrival in Jukkasjärvi, 200km north of the Arctic Circle, you are quipped with waterproof clothing and boots. Your river rafting expedition starts in nearby Ahamukka. The water of the magnificent free flowing Torne River is crystal clear and you glide with the current through the wilderness, passing rapids and minor falls.

In the afternoon you reach the camp where a wilderness lunch is prepared by the fire in a Kåta – the Sami equivalent of a tipi. After the enjoyable meal you return to Jukkasjärvi and ICEHOTEL. Here, you visit the ICEHOTEL Art Center, where 2000 tons of crystal clear ice from the Torne River is on display in the shape of spectacular art. There will also be time to enjoy a drink at the ABSOLUT ICEBAR – one of the coolest bars on earth according to Newsweek!

The following day you board a train from the nearby town of Kiruna, heading north towards the mountains on the border between Sweden and Norway. At the train station of Katteratt you disembark and start the trek along the old navvy road which takes you from the high alpine area down to the blue Atlantic Ocean. By the remains of the village Rombakksbotn you enjoy tasty fresh shrimps before a boat takes you to the Norwegian town of Narvik. Here a coach is waiting to take you to your hotel in Riksgränsen, a village on the border between Sweden and Norway. Having enjoyed a three-course dinner at restaurant Lapplandia you will sleep comfortably at the hotel.

After a big breakfast the following morning you will return to Narvik which is the start-off point for a boat excursion on the magnificent Ofotsfjorden. Lunch will be served on board.

When you return to Riksgränsen in the evening a visit to the high alpine Spa will provide welcoming relaxation. The spa offers a wide range of soothing therapies, such as spa soak, deep relaxation and hot stone massage. If you are up for it, your visit to the magic world above the Arctic Circle will end with a helicopter ride, admiring the wild mountain landscape in the golden glare of the midnight sun.
