Suite 305
Contemplation

‘The suite is a calm room for thoughts and contemplation. In a subtile way we wish to aim the visitors attention up in the sky.
Two sacral elements made of ice stretch towards the ceiling on the short ends of the room. Without connecting, the forms build a warm bed and a bench under an orchestra of ice in the centre of the room. Above, a star cluster of ice greets the visitor.

The articulated entrance to the suite and the two ice-elements are instruments where we might play the part of directing and controlling the adventure of ice, space and light.’

Johan Kauppi

Johan and Nina are both students from the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Johan is a designer interested in spatial form, interior architecture, illustration, photo, graphic communication, concept and idea development.
Johan grew up in the north of Sweden and feels strongly for the pure and simple.

Nina Mårtensson

Nina is a jewellery artist with silver and gold as favourite materials. She also works in untraditional materials such as flowers.
Just like ice, the material has a short time of existence, something that adds an extra dimension to its beauty, the pleasure of sharing something that does not last forever.
Nina grew up in south Sweden and has a background as a sculptress and orist.
