Mammoth

‘‘Mammuthus arctica - ice mammoth
A very rare type of mammoth that lived in north Europe and Asia.

This type of mammoth lived from 50,000 to 8,000 years ago and was earlier only identified through cave paintings in Siberia. They were 4.5 meters height and weighed 5 tonnes, the tusks were up to 5 meters long and also made of ice like the skeleton. The mammoth could be 60 years old, consuming around 200kg of plants and snow per day.

Tracks of the Mammuthus arctica are very rare, no other finds have been made before, mostly because of the tendency of the ice skeleton to melt.

Please do not disturb the archeologists in their work. Thank you for your attention.’’
