Liquid syntax

‘‘An unfurling scroll of snow speak Liquid syntax is an expression of first encounters with visible snow flakes, observing the clear and infinite hexagonal formations and lace-like intricacies, as they landed on my sleeve, observing them so closely that they melted in a breath.

In a sweeping curve on the wind, rushing at me with such complexity, of beauty, dynamism, fragility and volume, rendering me as small as they.’’

Julia Adzuki

Born in 1980, in Beechworth, Australia.
Julia Adzuki began working with textiles at and early age. Inspired by her great-Aunt, a seamstress, she learned to make lace and clothing.
Julia began experimenting with embedding textiles and hair in ice in Tasmania in 2000, lured by the material she soon found her way to ICEHOTEL. She has since worked with ice in Greenland, Quebec and Norway.
When the winter is over she finds herself designing and making fur clothing on the other side of the melted river.
