”There are many attitudes towards, and different ways to
approach, a cell – an isolated room. I would like to describe my cell on the basis of active and passive fields of tension.
...the hand presses, pushes, wants out. You’re confined, smothered by the soft fabrics of the walls. The cell is padded, locks in anxiety. Storage. Room for despair. The silence is screaming.
Security, warmth from the soft fabric of the walls. The cell is padded, eliminates anxiety. Room to rest. Room to contemplate. The silence is kind.
A hand reaches out and touches the soft surface. A hand which through its greatness delivers power and pardon. The strong hand against the soft mattress. A contact.”
