Rob Harding and Timsam Harding, Spain.
‘Abanico’ translates as fan in English. The Swedish refer to this as solfjädrar, sun feathers. Linger for a moment in this exquisite ice space and soak in the textures. As you step into the suite open your heart as if it were a fan and marvel at the mastery involved in creating this suite. Along the far wall is an ice fan, fully opened, with each piece superbly cut, sculpted and then installed into the snow wall.
Rob Harding who is originally from England and his son, Spanish born Timsam Harding reside in Malaga, Spain and came to the Arctic Circle to complete their first ICEHOTEL Suite. Rob has had a lifelong career as an accomplished sculptor. This is not Rob’s first experience with ice and snow as he has participated in snow sculpture competitions in Japan, Finland, Italy, Germany and Sweden. Timsam is in his last year of High School majoring in art and film.
