In a land with no roads, lie the some of the fly fishing paradises in Europe’s last wilderness. Kaitum River, home to the char- and grayling stream Tjirtjam, has for ages been a well-known secret amongst fly fishermen.
The rivers Tavvaätno and Lainio have engendered many a myth and have been described by countless angling writers. At the source of the Rautas River, where it leaves Rautasjaure Lake, char and salmon gather in the evening to feast on the abundance of insects swept along by the current.
