Entering ICEHOTEL’s Main Hall is always a journey and this year, Main Hall is truly a journey in itself; whisking you all the way to Indialand. Inspired by a Swedish children’s song ‘I Indialand’ about an magician living in India, the magician has swung his wand and brought with him an exotic Indian jungle to Jukkasjärvi.
After 15 years of commuting between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sweden, artist Sofi Ruotsalainen feels right at home in the main hall setting together with Lena Kriström and Mikael Nille Nilsson, all experienced ICEHOTEL artists, contributing to the ICEHOTEL artistic direction over the years with idioms of their own.
