Water is essential. The Main Hall gives tribute to this force as textured snow walls scoop you up and gently toss you into the magical currents of the Torne River. It flows with such strenght and freezes so quickly it gifts us with ICEHOTEL each winter.
Waves of emotions wash over you as you allow your eye to follow the ice surf that runs through the middle of the space; lifts up to the ice chandelier as it crests and brings you back full circle. Relax, let the Arctic waters recharge and energize you.
The Art & Design Group consisting of Åke Larsson, Arne Bergh, Sofi Ruotsalainen, Mikael "Nille" Nilsson and Janne Haglöf have jumped into this design with both feet. An invaluable helping hand were given by Peter Sörwing. Their talent and appreciation of the wonders of life continue to nurture our souls and encourage our spirits.
Each visitor that enters the Main Hall risks being swept away in tides of ICEHOTEL.
