ICEHOTEL presents ICEBAR, ice sculpting and activities in the Midnight sun. Welcome to the summer when the night becomes day and the adventures begins

After a successful winter with snow, ice, dog sledding and snowmobile tours, ICEHOTEL continues to celebrate it’s 20th anniversary and launches completely new adventures with one thing in common. They all take place when the summer is bright and offer a special atmosphere thanks to the Midnight sun.

Visit Jukkasjärvi this summer and you will be the first to experience the new ICEBAR and the ice sculpting available on site. Between the 25th of June and the 31th of July, you can also choose between a lot of new products – midnight sun adventures like white water rafting, walking to Poimonenvaara or boat tours with fishing and picnic in beautiful Kuossanjarga. At the same time ICEHOTEL offers outside lounge, fireplaces, tepees, docks and saunas, an art exhibition and the opportunity to travel by boat over Torne River.

ICEHOTEL is open between 11th of June and 22th of August and during the summer you can go rafting, hiking, try yoga and canoeing or take part in one of our many courses in, for example, photography, fishing, colour setting, hunting, hiking, and training in leadership and mountain safety.

ICEHOTEL also continues to offer guided tours at ESRANGE Space Center.

"Dig where you stand, much is undone"
Many people were sceptical 20 years ago when ICEHOTEL started. “What’s there to do in all that cold and darkness?” they said. Today ICEHOTEL is one of the world’s most well known hotels with 50 000 visitors every season, of which 70 percent comes from abroad. Since then, "dig where you stand, much is undone" has been a motto for Yngve Bergqvist, founder of ICEHOTEL. With a range of activities that can be made from early morning and into the night, ICEHOTEL now continue to take advantage of what Europe’s last wilderness can offer.

– The Midnight sun and the special atmosphere that exists up here, 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, is unique and something we hope that more now get the chance to experience, says Roland Sand, Sales and Marketing Manager.

ICEHOTEL arrange transportation to Jukkajärvi from the airport, bus station and railway station in Kiruna. From 2010 ICEHOTEL also run a STF Hostel in Jukkasjärvi, the first hostel in the area.
