Bernadotte & Kylberg DESIGN SUITE

Our largest suites features a heated relaxation area with designed en-suite bathroom. The Design Suite Bernadotte Kylberg holds a bathroom with a relaxroom including a private toilet, shower and sauna. Available year-round.

Award-winning design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg has in unique collaboration with Icehotel designed the suite A Midsummer Night's Dream in Icehotel 365 – available all year round. The duo has been invited to create the art suite, where you can sleep among their art. Each suite at Icehotel is unique.

For the first time in the hotel's history, a material that is not ice or snow has been used in the suite, namely flowers and plants. The flowers permeate the entire furniture, for example in the form of an ice block around the bed with birch leaves and a ceiling lamp in the form of a flower wreath. Everything in the room is reminiscent of midsummer, one of Sweden's most beloved traditions.

The heated relax room in the Design Suite holds a bathroom, two comfortable armchairs, shower and sauna directly connected to the bedroom. The design is a combination of local culture and history in the building material and details. The heated area also provides storage for your belongings. The suite has doors with locks for your privacy.

The suite is furnished with an exclusive bed, for ultimate comfort. The bed is covered with reindeer hides and on top of this you sleep in a thermal sleeping bag. The sleeping room holds a temperature of -5 to -8 degrees Celsius.

The Design Suite A Midsummer Night's Dream is now open and can be booked specifically. Some of the proceeds for this room will be donated to charity.

the change over time

The living material in form of flowers and birch leaf allows the suite to change over time. The initially clear surface of the ice blocks is slowly getting more frost on in and in some parts, we can only glimpse the fresh flowers. The flowers have changed over time, the once clear colors have slowly changed into a new tone. A more neutral tone that conveys the beautiful and fragile. Nature takes its course and what once was, should not be taken for granted. This creates a mystery in the suite and a story about the transience of life.

See the change and difference in the ice and the flowers in the two pictures below. The pictures were taken one year apart, the left photo is taken 2021 and the right one is taken 2022.

Icehotel 365

The concept Icehotel 365 makes the sleeping-on-ice experience available to combine with fall and summer adventures as well as the classic winter excursions. The specially designed building is run on renewable energy, mainly on solar power, in the summer months. The interior holds the same standard and visual design as the winter structure. The exterior in winter has the same shape and look as the adjacent winter structure, and in summer, the arched roof is covered in grass.
