Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights, can be seen in Jukkasjärvi between September and March. Join us on our Northern Lights Safari where we walk out to our Camp Aurora.
The best place to see it is in the wilderness, away from artificial light. Our guide explains how the northern lights appear, what causes it and the folklore around the world-known phenomenon. Rounded up by a cosy campfira you will be served some traditional Swedish Fika, which is coffe with a little sweet. Around a campfire you will be served traditional “Swedish Fika” (coffee served with something sweet).

Your clothing is the most important part in order to be able to enjoy your activity to the fullest. We strongly advise you not to underestimate the cold in the Arctic during the winter months, and to carefully follow our recommendations regarding clothing and equipment.
Loan of warm winter overall, warm shoes, gloves and balaclava if needed. Visit Riverside Lobby to get equipt.
Required to bring
Dress warm underneath, preferably in thermal clothing, a warm middle layer and hat.
A great opportunity to bring a camera in case we get to spot the northern lights.

Keep in mind

Please note that this activity is held late at night and it can be very cold during the period December – February. There are no guarantees of seeing the northern lights since it's a weather phenomena.
Departure time
The activity always begins on scheduled time, gather at Meeting point at least 15 minutes earlier, equipt and ready. Please note that you as a guest are personally responsible to visit Riverside lobby well ahead to get equipt if that is included in the activity.
