Join us on a cross-country ski tour along the Torne River to the small island of Rimisaari and experience the Arctic nature.
Together with a wilderness guide, you go on a wonderful trip with cross-country skis. We ski at a prepared trail along the Torne River and our destination is the island of Rimisaari located in the middle of Torne River, just outside Icehotel. Once at Rimisaari, we gather around the crackling open fire for some coffee. For those who want to ski more, there is the opportunity to continue skiing on the prepared loop along the river.
The tour is suitable for both experienced skiers and beginners, before we set off from Icehotel the guide will show and explain ski technique. Recommended age is from 12 years.

Equipment
Your clothing is the most important part in order to be able to enjoy your activity to the fullest. We strongly advise you not to underestimate the cold in the Arctic during the winter months and to carefully follow our recommendations regarding clothing and equipment. Our guides have the right to deny anyone dressed wrongly or too cold to join the tour.Included
Loan of skiis, ski poles and boots are included for this tour. It is mandatory to wear warm clothes that are adapt to arctic weather. Loan of warm winter overall, warm shoes, gloves, and balaclava is included. Visit Riverside Lobby well in advance to get equipped.Required to bring

You need to be minimum two persons for the tour to run. Please note that other guests can be booked on the same tour. We have Arctic weather which means that we during winter have extreme temperatures and short daylight hours. In winter, temperatures in Jukkasjärvi can drop down to as low as -40 C (-40 F).SAFETY
