About the art suite
A suite for an emperor, or a suite full of emperors? If you were anticipating a regal residence fit for a king, you may be somewhat surprised.
Step into the far away frozen continent of Antarctica and into the natural habitat of the world’s tallest and heaviest penguin species: Aptenodytes forsteri, the emperor penguin.
Guests will share the suite with a colony of resident emperors, and like visitors to Antarctica, they will become objects of curiosity and scrutiny for the inhabitants. The vista of Mount Erebus, the Ross Ice Shelg and the Trans Antarctic Mountains will envelope you and glow as if lit from within, illuminated by a sun low on the horizon that refuses to set.
About the artists
Dennis Taylor has a background in tertiary education and experience across a wide range of artistic media. Ice is by far his preferred medium of choice, valued for its creative possibilities, environmentally friendly qualities and the fascination and enjoyment it brings to others through his work.
Michelle Taylor enjoys the contrasts and balance between her banking career and opportunities to contribute to collaborative, creative projects. In her spare time, she is passionate about running, fitness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
